Workshops & Training

Hands-on training in computational fluid dynamics, OpenFOAM and high-performance computing for students and early-career researchers.

Highlight · Autumn school UKACM & GACM Autumn School 2025: Open-Source Codes for High-Performance Computing Dr Chandan Bose organised and taught the OpenFOAM day of this free, online autumn school run by the UK Association for Computational Mechanics (UKACM) and the German Association for Computational Mechanics (GACM), 29 September – 2 October 2025. Together with Dr Emad Tandis (Aston University), Prof. Philip Cardiff (University College Dublin) and Dr Ivan Batistic (University of Zagreb), he led sessions on computational fluid and solid dynamics with OpenFOAM, from a first CFD simulation and custom solver development to stress analysis of flexible structures and full fluid-structure interaction simulations with the solids4foam toolbox. 4 days online3 open-source code tracks4 OpenFOAM day speakers Watch the tutorial on coding and compiling your own OpenFOAM solver on YouTube →
